Every Stroke Counts.
Golf is a funny game. A lipped out three footer is worth the same as a 300 yard drive.
Face angle is by far the largest factor that determines the starting direction of a putt. Traditional putters fight against you and cause face rotation due to torque. Zero torque putters can help solve this.
What Are Zero Torque Putters?
What Is Torque in a Putting Stroke?
Torque is the twisting force created when a force acts off-center from an object’s center of mass. In a putter, torque is generated when the force from your hands acts along a shaft axis that isn’t aligned with the putter’s center of mass (COM). That misalignment creates a lever arm, and the longer the lever arm, the more torque is generated, causing the putter face to twist and rotate away from square.
How Zero Torque Putters Reduce Face Rotation
Z-Stroke’s zero torque putter design aligns the shaft axis directly with the putter’s center of mass. With little to no lever arm for your hands’ force to act on, less torque is generated at the source, giving the putter face less tendency to rotate throughout the stroke.
Moment of Inertia (MOI): The Other Half of Putter Stability
Torque, once generated, causes rotation. Moment of Inertia (MOI) is the property that resists that rotation: the higher a putter’s MOI, the less it twists in response to a given amount of torque. This is why some traditional putters with an off-axis shaft can still feel relatively stable. High MOI doesn’t eliminate the torque being generated, but it reduces how much the face actually twists because of it.
Zero Torque + High MOI: A Two-Part Approach to a Stable Putter Face
Every Z-Stroke putter combines both principles: shaft-to-COM alignment to minimize torque at its source, and high MOI, achieved through precise perimeter weighting, to resist whatever rotation remains, whether from an imperfect stroke or an off-center strike. The result is a putter face designed to stay square more consistently through the stroke.
Why Choose Z-Stroke?
Stability
Our zero torque putter designs makes the putter work with you to keep the face square and stable throughout the stroke
Forgiveness
High MOI means more resistance to any twisting produced by the hands, and more energy transferred to the ball on non centered strikes
Feel
Precision milled face options to deliver exceptional feedback and a responsive feel at impact.
Putter Features
Zero Torque
No putter induced twisting throughout the stroke
High MOI
Resists any torque produced at impact and by the hands
Premium Face
Designed to optimize feel and deliver consistent ball speeds across the face.
